I first travelled to Romania in May 2002 with The Cleaford Christian Trust and I became a trustee of TCCT in 2003. As a trustee of TCCT I visited Romania twice a year and, during this time, I gained considerable experience and insight into the ongoing needs of various communities and in particular the Rroma (Gypsy) communities of Sacele and Reghin. By 2010 it became apparent that a new charity would need to be formed to support the work of FAST Charity Romania and The Community Aid Network of Brasov. FAST UK was started, with three trustees, in April 2011 and I was voted in as Chairman. Since 2011 I have worked with FAST UK helping in any capacity that was needed. I absolutely love Romania and all the wonderful friends I have made there over the years, and I particularly enjoy taking new people to Romania to visit and help communities that are still in desperate need.
I first visited and fell in love with Romania and its people back in 2012 and have been back each year since that first trip. I became a trustee of FAST UK in 2017. While in Romania I enjoy getting to know and help the people we support as a charity, within the Rroma (Gypsy) communities in Sacele and Reghin, and learning how we are able to help those who are in need. I love sharing my experiences and stories from our trips with people to help spread awareness of the great need for help in Romania. I keep the social media pages up to date with updates and fundraising campaigns.
Morag has been visiting Romania since 2006, and takes part in meetings to encourage and support churches and small organisations which work with marginalised people in Romania. During that time she has packed aid for Romania with the Cleaford Christian Trust and FAST UK and knows personally the people who receive this help. She has friends in the Romanian, Hungarian and Rroma communities and believes it is best to help people help themselves in their own community, particularly through education. Morag has attended Farnham Baptist Church for more than 20 years and works as a Growth Group leader and Mentor to vulnerable people.
Timothy has been going on annual trips to Romania since 2012. He became a trustee of FAST UK in 2016. He has recently taken on some of the financial responsibility of the charity and has been looking after the website for many years. He also has been taking a larger role in organising the annual trips in recent years. Tim works for an IT software in Farnborough and is a very keen fan of films and the cinema.
